Jack Hanna and the Columbus Zoo
In the Spring of 2007, Custom Cages partnered with Jack Hanna and the Columbus Zoo to completely renovate their holding room for promotional animals. These are the very same animals you see with Jack on various television shows.
“We are very excited to win the approval of such a conservationist and well-known figure in the industry,” says Adam Keller, president of Custom Cages. “We are very happy and honored to do this for them.“
In October of 2007, the Custom Cages team installed over $50,000 worth of enclosures and accessories for Jack Hanna at the zoo. The cages hold everything from macaws to snakes to armadillos!
MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”
Custom Cages helps “Pimp” her ride with a reptile enclosure!
In June of 2006, we built a terrarium to be featured on MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”. The enclosure was a perfect fit for the back seat of the WWII-style Volkswagen. In the words of Gyasi, a pro renovator at GAS, the terrarium was “the bomb!” This is just another advantage of our enclosure system: They can be custom-sized for just about any application down to 1/16th of an inch!
The owner of the vehicle featured in this episode uses the enclosure to transport her California King snakes and Ball Pythons. All the inner accessories such as bark, vines, and logs were also provided by us with one exception, the TV! The GAS team also installed a tiny television into a rock mounted inside the cage so even the snakes could ride in style!
Bravo’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”
“I think they are the most beautiful cages you can buy!” – Thom, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
On June 6, 2006, a bird enclosure built by Custom Cages was featured on the season premiere of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”. The Fab Five took their skills to Las Vegas and ‘renovated’ an entertainer named Max Clever.
The producers of “Queer Eye” contacted us in March of 2006 to help with their renovation because Max had an animal/comedy act at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. Our team went quickly to work and set up the perfect enclosures for a pair of cockatoos. In fact, the enclosures became the focal point of the interior renovation.
The Fab Five introduced the cage to Max with great excitement, and at one point, Thom (the interior decorator of the group) said “I think they are the most beautiful cages you can buy!”.

MSNBC Features CagesByDesign.com
Frank Silverstein, producer for MSNBC’s ‘Your Business’ sat down with Adam Keller, President of Custom Cages for an interview that aired on December 9th, 2007. The premise of the show was to showcase how Custom Cages became a successful small business by manufacturing their products in the United States rather than importing their products from China. This was by offering innovative designs, high-quality output, and customized products.
